Oct 3, 12:02 PM
EmoryHealthcare: We’ve got an eager group today and have a few questions already in the queue, so let’s get started.

Oct 3, 12:02 PM
Guest1551 (Guest): Do you remove skin tags and brown spots from seborrheic keratosis?

Oct 3, 12:03 PM
EmoryHealthcare: These types of lesions, usually the product of aging, can be removed during an office visit using local anesthesia.

Oct 3, 12:06 PM
Guest2581 (Guest): I’ve read that there are different ways of doing a facelift – what is the best one that hides the scars the best?

Oct 3, 12:06 PM
EmoryHealthcare: There are different types of facelifts, all are planned to hide scars – but many factors are involved and we suggest a consultation to determine the best clinical approach.

Oct 3, 12:09 PM
EmoryHealthcare: During your consultation, we walk you through a gallery of images depicting the various stages of the post-operative progression.

Oct 3, 12:09 PM
Anita Korwin: Are oral collagen supplements effective and if so, which brands?

Oct 3, 12:11 PM
EmoryHealthcare: There is no clinical evidence that oral collagen supplements work.

Oct 3, 12:13 PM
Guest9448 (Guest): Seeing celebrity plastic surgery outcomes, what kind of research do you recommend so that I don’t look end up looking puffy like Madonna?

Oct 3, 12:16 PM
EmoryHealthcare: Good aesthetic surgery should be anonymous, but when it’s done improperly it tends to be noticeable.

Oct 3, 12:17 PM
EmoryHealthcare: Get plenty of opinions and make sure you see pre-and post-operative images.

Oct 3, 12:19 PM
EmoryHealthcare: You’ve probably seen many people that have had plastic surgery, but because it’s done properly, you didn’t notice it.

Oct 3, 12:19 PM
Katness1975 (Guest): Is there a procedure to correct, or advance a receding hairline?

Oct 3, 12:21 PM
EmoryHealthcare: Yes. Depending on the hair pattern there are operations to advance or move the hairline forward.

Oct 3, 12:24 PM
Guest1551 (Guest): I heard that Botox can be watered down. How can I be sure that I’m getting the best results?

Oct 3, 12:26 PM
EmoryHealthcare: Botox has become prolific and it is necessary to establish a relationship with a reputable clinic that you trust.

Oct 3, 12:27 PM
Anita Korwin: Are there any skin care product lines that you recommend for the best anti-aging benefits?

Oct 3, 12:31 PM
EmoryHealthcare: We have several skin care product lines at Emory Aesthetic Center. Our trained skin care experts would be happy to recommend a brand and/or products, such as Revision Skin Care, ZO Skin Health, among others.

Oct 3, 12:34 PM
Guest6451 (Guest): What are the best options for tightening jowl lines?

Oct 3, 12:36 PM
EmoryHealthcare: Since there is no effective way to tighten skin, any excess skin would need to be removed by some form of facelift. However, we may be able to camouflage the jowl lines using filler.

Oct 3, 12:41 PM
Katness1975 (Guest): microdermabrasion or microneedling? Which is best?

Oct 3, 12:41 PM
EmoryHealthcare: In terms of level of complexity, microdermabrasion is less aggressive – it works only on the top layer of skin, the epidermis. Micro-needling works on the epidermis and dermis layers of your skin and may be best to treat wrinkles or more difficult issues.

Oct 3, 12:46 PM
EmoryHealthcare: Emory Aesthetic Center is currently offering 20% off of a micro-needling treatment for the month of October: http://bit.ly/2yWhgwP

Oct 3, 12:52 PM
EmoryHealthcare: These questions have been great! We have time for just one more question today. Any remaining questions will be answered by Dr. Zubowic in a post-chat Q&A blog on http://advancingyourhealth.org

Oct 3, 12:55 PM
EmoryHealthcare: Q. What is the recovery like after a facelift and when can I return to work and look presentable?

Oct 3, 12:57 PM
EmoryHealthcare: Physiologically a facelift is not a stressful procedure, there is generally little pain or discomfort. Most patients will look presentable to return to work within two weeks, however, there will be outliers.

Oct 3, 1:00 PM
